Charu Khandal, a talented animator with Indian movie star Shahrukh Khan’s production house, Red Chillies, went through a successful surgery at the Kokilaben Ambani hospital Mumbai. Charu Khandal, who had done the animation for the blockbuster Ra.One was hit by a drunken driver leaving her in critical condition. The 26-year-old suffered multiple fractures and injuries to her spinal cord in the accident.
Red Chillies Entertainment was reluctant in extending financial support as Charu is a contractual employee. Shahrukh Khan who just returned from a trip abroad, expressed his concern and willingness to help Charu. He wished her speedy recovery.
Charu’s friends have opened a Facebook page to support Charu and her friend Vikrant who was traveling with her in the vehicle at the time of the accident. According to the latest update on the JusticeforCharuandVikrant Page, help is yet to reach from Red Chillies. Charu might have to undergo treatments and physiotherapy for almost two years even after her discharge and her friends are seeking financial help to support this. Charu’s friends from Jaipur are organizing a candle march for her. The march is in Mumbai, at Central Park to Statue Circle tomorrow at 6:30 pm.
