Google Doodle on Labor day salutes the Working Woman

The Google Doodle celebrating Labour Day for 2012  is a remarkable shift from its past doodles that came out as part of the International Labour Day commemoration. Barring a few countries, including US, the rest of the world considers May 1st of every year as Labor Day, commemorating the economic and social achievements of workers across the world. It is also an occasion to celebrate the the fruits of the labor-day movement or the eight-hour day movement that demanded 8 hours of work, 8 hours of recreation and 8 hours of rest for every working individual on the planet.

Interestingly, the Indian homepage, home to the biggest democracy and labor work force, and one of the first nations to recognise and uphold the rights of the workers seems to have been given a miss.
